Eucalyptusdom reckons with Australia's cultural history and ever-changing relationship with the gum tree. This publication from Powerhouse Publishing expands upon a body of research and creative output generated via the eponymous exhibition at the Powerhouse Ultimo (October 2021 - August 2022). The Eucalyptusdom project, commissioned by Powerhouse Chief Executive Lisa Havilah, grapples with the museum's colonial collecting practices.The publication showcases the more than 20 creative practitioners commissioned to produce new works in dialogue with 500+ objects from the Powerhouse collection. Eycalyptusdom offers insights from the award-winning exhibition design team and includes a new work of literary non-fiction by acclaimed Australian author Ashley Hay, a 32-page folio of art photography by Amanda Williams, and an oral history shared by D’harawal Elder Aunty Fran Bodkin.Other contributions from Craig Burton, Agatha Gothe-Snape, Julie Gough, Jonathon Jones and Dr Uncle Stan Grant Snr AM, Jazz Money, Sarah Rees, Wukun Wanambi, Damien Wright and Bonhula Yunupiŋu, Justine Youssef and many, many more.Eucalyptusdom is designed by Studio Ongarato, edited by Sally Rose and features principle photography by Zan Wimberley.
